Street Fighter x Tekken day 17

At this point I’m feeling pretty comfortable with my understanding of the game. I’m working out a gameplan and I’m starting to get wins off of good players so I’m probably ahead of where I thought I would be honestly.

The common thing I hear from street fighter players is the that it has all these tekken elements but I think they don’t really understand what is a tekken element and what is just new. Like I think it’s about 90% street fighter with some tekken and some Marvel 3 making up the rest. Read more about Street Fighter x Tekken day 17

Street Fighter x Tekken: Day 3

A little background:

I’m a long time tekken player. I haven’t been to a tournament outside of the maritimes but I’m fairly active in the online community and I’d call myself an expert on the mental aspects of the game. Street fighter however is a different story... the farthest I go into the metagame is basically baiting shoryukens using hadokens or using akuma’s air fireball to force a low/overhead mixup. The game isn’t completely foreign to me but I am definitely a scrub. Read more about Street Fighter x Tekken: Day 3

Tekken Halifax - Tekken 6 Indepth Statistics

After every ranking battles I post up a leaderboard of every player who got over a certain number of points but there is a whole slew of data that doesn't get listed. I wanted to show in greater detail the players who have played but don't get on the leaderboard & more indepth statistics for players that do. It's a great way to get a better understanding of your game. With the new ranking system where you get points even for losses then the lower players would be in a much better spot then they are right now. Have a look, I'll post some fun facts at the bottom. Tekken Halifax - Tekken 6 Leaderboard January 14th, 2012

In reflection of 2011 we had discussed amongst ourselves that the current ranking system was good but it had 2 big flaws:

- Nobody was ranking up very fast

- There wasn't enough incentive to play matches against people with larger or smaller point totals. Read more about Tekken Halifax - Tekken 6 Leaderboard January 14th, 2012

Defending Yourself part 2 - The Best Defence is a Good Offence

Essentially you have 3 options when defending. The first part of this covered the most generic way to do this: blocking. Blocking should really be thought of as a last resort in most cases, a counter attack is much more preferable.

Holiday Haymakers Preview

Hey all,

This Sunday is the first annual Holiday Haymakers tournament and I wanted to write a little bit about it.

I first came to Adam with the idea of having a tekken tournament right after Fight For Infinity last summer. I had all kinds of fun there and in some ways it was really a high point for the tekken community. We had our big guns all there and they did very well especially in the Finals:
